Guest Speaker Week 5/ Studying Abroad

This week our guest speaker was Irwin Apple. He was talking to us about acting and singing stuff like that. To be honest I found his lecture on the boring side, he told us a lot of stories about his life and how he went to school in New York and how much he loves New York stuff like that. However, this week for discussion we went to the EAP office, which is Education Abroad Program. We learned about the different opportunities UCSB offers to study abroad. We also learned that the program has requirements such as G.P.A and status of the student's year (sophomore, junior, etc.) I am very eager about studying abroad in India. So when I learned about the different abroad programs offered for juniors and seniors in India I was very excited. There were two in particular that caught my attention, the seven week summer program in india and the fall four month program. I really want to go to India but I have to wait until my junior or senior year. I found out that most abroad programs are for juniors and seniors but there are a couple programs offered to sophomores. I found out that next summer of 2014 I would be able to study abroad in France, Italy, and even the U.K. I have never been out of the country so I am looking forward to next summer going to study abroad. I don't know where yet because I'm debating between a couple places but I definitely want to study abroad.

I think it is awesome that you want to study abroad. I'm so jealous that you know that you want to study in India. I wish I knew exactly where I wanted to go like you. In the future, I think I want to study abroad in a country either in Africa or Europe. I feel that seeing how people in other countries live and interact is one of life's important experiences. I'm glad that someone else has this same idea.
I hope you have an awesome time when and where you end up traveling to. I know it will be an amazing experience.
